Live band di Waikiki Plaza TTDI

Last nite I went to Waikiki Plaza TTDI with my husband. It was recommended by my husband's friend Pravin. Katanya kawan dia yang perform malam tu. Band tu namanya Acoustic, dianggotai oleh 3 Indian mans who can sing and play music naturally good. Previous band di waikiki banyak yang saya tengok guna penyayi perempuan as the main singer dan the guys play music and jadi back up singer and the female singer singing by refering to lyrics in the book. Harap seksi jelah. But for us yesterday was good, they can sing well without lyrics book. Cuma boring tu part nak set up instrument kadang-kadang tak menjadi dan taking too long time . lagi satu they didn't play my request song "sweet child of mine" and "wild world " by cat steven.
Nak dengar acoustic hari khamis di waikiki TTDI plaza.

Rainbow

Erm.. this morning was beautiful. The moment my car exit the post guard, I saw a beautiful rainbow. When I was small I always dreamt of walking through the rainbow and playing kite. Isn't it wonderful if we could be under the rainbow? I wish. Rainbow is like a dream. We can see but we can't touch it and feel it. It was beautiful but we can't have it, it's gone when the sun shine. It symbolize our life, temporary, not permenent, diberi oleh Yang Maha Esa kepada umat manusia untuk menikmatinya.

Ingat tak cerita orang dulu-dulu, if you see rainbow jangan dok tuding jari towards it sebab nanti jari kita putus. I'm not sure the relevency of tunjuk arah pelangi, jari putus. Erm... nak kata pelangi macam pisau tak jugak. Why the story goes like that yea? Anybody knows?

Makan Dan Suhaila

I love food and I like eating. Only lately I started controlling my eating patern as I am now managing my diet. I want to go back to the shape when i was 45kg -48kg. I'm not sure is it possible or not but I need to try. That's why now I am actively doing earobic and taking herbalife. Once a while I remembered how I enjoyed the wonderful world of banana leaf, nasi kandar Nilai, Nasi beriyani Masjid nilai lama, auntie aini's in Nilai, once a while, seafood at Bagan Lalang and Pulau Carey, Sup gerabox at kuarantin,KLIA, Havina Ampang, Victoria Station Sushi King, the ship bukit bintang, seafood at Nelayan Bangi, and once a while bufet at Pan pacific KLIA, or Pan Pac Puteri PWTC. It was great.

Now my routine eating has totally changed when I married to the 2nd most gorgeous man beside my father (he's the first), Johan Bokhari Muhammad Abu Bakar. My husband's eating style is totally different from mine. I am a typical Jawa who loves rice and spicy taste while my husband is more to a simple yet healthy food. However, from time to time I manage to follow his eating style and patern. As everybody knew he will never change his eating style. You must be wondering what is myhusband's eating style and patern. His eating style is simple more like western as he likes sandwiches, burgers, steaks and ceasar salad. And his eating patern is if he had high cabo during lunch he will then want to have more protein base food during dinner. If he had had a big protein and cabo for breakfast, then he will have a late lunch cum dinner, meaning that the lunch will somewhere to 4pm to 5pm.

While my eating style before I get married was so called "hentam sajalah" as long as it tasty, creamy and spicy. I love cooking too but now it is not my adventure activity anymore eversince my skill is not required in preparing sandwich and salad. I believe I can beat anthony bourdin or chef wan should I practice daily cooking (ada masa ke Kak?.....). Even if I cook now my cooking style now is more like Chinese style where it just the sauce that flavours my cooking. Once a while I had a chance to show off my cooking skill when there is guest coming to visit us by cooking a briyani rice ( it's soooo easy just get the Maggi beriyani mix, everything settled), dalca, korma and some fried or boiled vegetables. Now when I wish to eat kari kepala ikan, nasi campur and banana leaf I will asked my frineds to go to Kampung Attap, pusat Islam or Bangsar.
Anybody wants to bring me for Banana leaf this week? gulp...gulp... macam teringin pulak.
I love snacks like nachos with salsa dip or jepalano creemy cheese dip, snyders sour onion and mustard, and some creamy caramel.. erm... mouthwatering... erm... yummy....yummy.

My regular eating place that my husband has approved are Friendster, Tony Roma, TGI, Fridays, DOME, Kluang Station, Penang Restaurant at the curve, Shih Lin chicken, Sushi King, Reach Cafe and Jakes. You see, how different it is from my original taste. Anyway, I still can have the option of my choice at the Penang restaurant , IKANO.

Today we had dinner at Sushi King. I had udon gon and my husband had the japenese tofu, some plate sushi and fried salmon skin. We then went to Cold Storage to get my yogurt drink, tit bits and breads. You know what we found at the snack section? we found an offers buy one free one nachos and salsa dip. Erm... yum...yum .
*Foot Note : I rated Sushi King Ikano 5***** as the staff can communicate can take order correctly not like Sushi King Sooka which I end up canceled my order and went back with a rumbling tummy.

Melayu.. Melayu.. Melayu.. Dimana Salahnya ?

Apa nak jadi dengan orang Melayu kita. Hari ni kawan saya cerita keluar berita pasal seorang pegawai polis bantuan menyamun. Melayu.... saya baca berita, seorang budak Melayu yang koma akibat dibelasah teruk sekumpulan budak MELAYU meninggal gara-gara seorang budak perempuan MELAYU.

Kono-konon nak ikut cerita orang putih, komennya kalau cerita orang putih tak logikpun kita tenagok. Tapi bila dikaji, memang kadangkala cerita orang putih tak lojik tapi mereka tetap menerapkan nilai-nilai semangat, seperti ketenteraan, kreativiti, suvival.

Tapi saya sangat respect orang Melayu yang sebenarnya bukan orang Melayu seperti contoh orang Aceh, Bugis, Jawa, India Muslim/ mamak, mereka kebanyakkannya sangat rajin, bersemangat.

Termissed apppoinment Check up

Then i checked with my husband, what date is today, he said 19th . OMG, termiss lagi. I knew it wil take another few months to get a new appointment. Nak tak nak kena pergi juga sebab nak try luck.

Punyalah nak pecut pagi-pagi ke Putrajaya, tapi movement of traffic masih tersenggut-senggut pasal jammed. WTH !!. ... sabar.. sabar finally I am at Putrajaya, wah so peaceful the road I can pecut to 130km/hr. tak sampai berapa minit sampai dah hospital... but why so many car parked at the roadside? uncivilized betul lah diorang ni. Tapi when I entered the normal car park, I was tawaf like 5 times when i got fed up and asked the JAGA whereelse can I park my car?. He said " atas bukit kat emergency". Okie, I drove betul-betul masuk emergency lane lepas tu keluar balik to the main road.. hampeh. Masukje terus ke parking and straight to the Gine counter. As I expected, I can't have the check-up today and they rescedule the appointment to April sebab March penuh.

Then my tummy started rumbling as I didn't take any breakfast today and I went to the cafe had a mee goreng and teh tarik sambil on-line. The food at the Cafe Putrajaya is average but varities. The service macam I commented in my preview post lah, kalau dah Melayu tu same je. No welcome, no smiles tak ada courtesy nak tanya atau assist customers.

The next best packed food kat hsopital putrajaya is the small kiosk beside the phramacy on the left when you entered the main lobby.

Saya Suhaila Kasim melapor dari Hospital Putrajaya.

* Looking at today's crowds there is possibility that it become like HKL or Hospital Klang.

Persepsi saya tentang orang Melayu

Melayu is synonim with politeness, kindness, emphaty, grateful, and beautiful. However, I also see some of them are lazy, slow, unproductive, arrogant, unthankful and defensive. Well I would like to share my experience about Malayu.

There was one fine morning when I received a call from a member of Bukit antarabangsa Landslide victims association who requested a space for their charity work. Enthusiastly I answered the call to assist them to get the space for F.O.C. and at the same time I did mentioned about our limitation. Less than a week my management has agreed to offer them space for F.O.C, but not as big as what he requested. With an arrogant he then rejected our offer and sacarstically criticised my company. I still remember his word "ini ke XXXX ,GLC company yang tak berterima kasih, kita orang UMNO banyak support syarikat you tapi ini ke balasannya? , bukan tu je ada panjang lagi complainnya which I malas nak cerita. For me if you are really sincere you should have just accepted what has been given or offered. We also sincerely offer the sapce to them but they should undertsand that we also have a limitation such as space constraint and etc. And may be this is a reason why recently UMNO has facing a hard time. It is because some of the members were so arrogant and unthankful. Oh yes,,, he did mentioned that they had managed to collect more than RM200,000.00. I think it was a great achievement as compared to our charity activities that we did for more needy people like orphanage and OKU. They should be thankful, that eventhough they lost their great, gigantic properties but they still got an attention for many big corporations, and still have more than enough money to survive. Even if they lost their properties, I believed they have insured their properties since they were aware of the risk of living at that kind of area. Unless, they are truly stupid or actually can't afford to get an insurance. Nevertheless, I feel symphaty to what had happened to them. Semoga Allah melindungi mereka semua.

Exp. 2 : Kedai Makan Melayu
Today I went to visit my office mate Nadia who had delivered a baby boy at Klinik Bersalin UMRA opposite the Shah alam stadium. And the best part was it is located at the same row of office lama I Enche Marketing which owned by Dato' Amat Cekap who is so called perfectionist... (erm perfectionist ke bile jawatan offered was marketing executive tapi bile report duty jadi P.A lepas tu buat kerja, jaga botol air rumah dia, beli tiket konsert anak dia dan register celcom line anak dia... that's make me dicided to quit). Basically it brings all my memories before I got married. Before we went back to office we dropped by at one Kedai Makan Melayu for lunch. Nama kedai tu AGORA. The restaurant is huge but the owner is not intelligent enough to utilize the space. The restaurant has the longest empty food counters. Not much varieties, yet we have no choice but to have our lunch there. One thing about kedai makan melayu, it always has these trademark, tak reti nak layan pelanggan, tak ada initiative untuk memenuhi kehendak pelanggan, tak productive dan inovative. When we entered the restaurant, none of the staff smiles, welcome and offer us seats until a while we found one empty table with a chair. Second, they are not creative and productive as they don't have initiative to replanish the dishes when the food tray was empty, nobody came to us to give options until we saw chicken rice and noodles counters were outside at the pathway.
Third, when were paying at the counter, the snobish lady at the counter was discrimanting the payer. Apa tak nya, I was standing at the counter earlier than other mans, tapi duit jantan-jantan tu yang dia ambil dulu and left me waiting until she collected all the payments made by the male customers. What a discrimination. Lepas tu yang tak tahan tu dengan muka yang pandang rendah kat orang asked me to add RM0.80 cents. kalau ye pun apa salahnya minta baik-baik bukannya aku tak mampu nak bayar. Apa? kalau pakai uniform je gaji rendah tak mampu nak makan kat kedai makan. Excuse me, we all exec tau, yang sorang tu lawyer lagi. Actually, kedai makan AGORA bukanlah pilihan kedai makan for me and my husband. Our standard is at least like FRIENDSTER, Bandar damanasara Perdana. That's the different kedai makan owned by non melayu dan melayu. Once you entered a restaurant owned by the non melayu, they will friendly welcomes you while when you are at the restaurant melayu, you will hardly welcome. Another example is TONY ROMA, Cineleisure, one of our regular place for us to have lunch or dinner. They will greet you and entertained your request and infact they want us to rate thier services. Kalau kedai makan Melayu lagi tak cakap degan customer lagi bagus. Below my rating for restaurants I've been :

1. FRIENDSTER : 5 ***** (THIS IS MY SECOND LIVING ROOM)
2. TONY ROMA (CINELEISURE) : 5*****
3. TGI FRIDAYS (THE CURVE, ONE UTAMA, SUBANG PARADE : 5*****
4. JAKES (DAMANSARA, STARHILL) : 5*****
5. PACIFICA , MANADARIN ORIENTAL : 6****** ( there were one tima I had dinner there with my hubby, the chef did demo for me on how to make durian creambule erm yummy..)
6. THE SHIP (BUKIT BINTANG) : 5*****
7. THE ITALIANIES : 5*****
8. BUBBA GUMP : 3***
9. THAI EXPRESS : 3***
10 SUSHI KING (IKANO) : 4****
11. SUSHI KING (SOOKA SENTRAL) : 2**
12. DOME (IKANO) : 3***
13. CHINESE RESTAURANT HOLIDAY VILLA : 4****
14. AGORA, Shah Alam depan stadium shah alam : 0( no star)

APA KATA ANDA BAGI RATING KAT KEDAI MAKAN YANG PERNAH ANDA LAWATI?

The morale of the story, bangunlah melayu, changed your attitude, jangan sombong, lebihkanlah kemesraan sesama manusia and don't create enemy. Good Luck!

Kari Kepala Ikan

Last Thursday we had Kari Kepala Ikan Jalan attap. It was full house. Tak lama berdiri the annei asked"berapa ramai", we said "anam", wokei mari ikut saya, kata annei. Here we go to the special seats near the bushes. First rasa cuak sebab I smeled sumthin' funny came from the bushes, luckily he gave us the seats far from the unfavourable smell. Jadi dapatlah kami menikmati bau kari yang semerbak lagi menyelerakan. Once seated, we make an order, tapi annei ni tak sempat nak buka mulut dia dah buat order for us, well most of the menu was what we want . Okei all set.

After 10 min. our order came one by one, and finally adalah yang ditungu-tunggu :

Yes, kepala ikan. Then we started our operation mission, kasi clear ini kapla, tapi the girls seems so polite and pity to the fish head. They more attracted to the gravy and the fried chickens. Anyway, bagus gak tu sebab tak yah berebut. Kalau bawa bala tentera office macam geng nasi kandar, dah tentu I plak yang malu nak makan dan kalau tak malupun nanti berebut tak cukup.

Anyway, the ayam goreng with kuah madu were awesome and the fish head was very interesting and adventure sebab penelitian terhadap isi dan penghayatan yang fokus sahaja, isi-isinya dapat dinikmati dengan kepuasan yang tak terhingga.

Hot Wok Kota Damansara

After work I went back and my husband has waited me at home for dinner and massage session. Tonight we decided to have dinner at my cousin's stall at food court Kota Damansara. It's a new place but a little bit bz coz the area is like food's and massage heaven.

The food court is located at the centre of Kota Damansara and near to the Balai Polis Kota Damansara. My cousin's food stall named "Hot Wok" offering Chinese cuisine by a Chinese chef. Unfortunately, the stall closed. So we decided to go to Khalifah, as we went through row of food stall somebody hi me from the back. Then I saw my youngest cousin at the drinks stall. He said he "jaga" the stall for my uncle which is "bau-bau bacang". As I met my cousin so we decided to just had our dinner at the food court even though seems not many varities as many stall closed. As recommended by my cousin, my husband had sate and I had Ikan bawal set.

The sate was very nice. The meat was tender and juicy came with a tasty "kuah kacang". It taste very yummy and tasty as compared to Sate Hj. Samuri. which recently we found that the taste and quantity semakinmenurun and we found sometimes kebersihan agak kurang as the skewers sticky.

The ikan bawal set not bad, fresh and tasty. It came with salad (ulam-ulaman), sambal kicap, sambal belacan and curry (the very kaw punya kari ala..ala nasi kandar). The fish they fried upon order and serve with nasi panas... peh... memang terangkat.

You also can get nice chicken wings at the chicken rice stall. Besides, Malay, Chinese and mamak food , you can also find western stall that offers varieties of pastas, chops and fish and chips. The ambiance are cozy and safe as it beside the police station.

The specialties there is the Hot Wok which offers you varieties of Chinese favourite menu such as sweet sour fish, lala (i can't pronounce it as it has Chinese name), and many others name of cooking which I can't remember.

It opens from 10.00a.m to 2.00 a.m every day. Lets go makan...makan... ehm ... yummy..

Cuti Panjang Lagi...part 2

This week another long weekend for us. Monday is special day Hindus as they are celebrating Thaipusam. Thanks, because of that I got another long weekend to spend with Shakira. This week both myself and my husband sent our car for servicing at normal Sen Heng proton Service Centre Jalan Ampang. This time a bit unusual as my husband want to take different way to Ampang which was through Jalan Kepong and definitely it passed through Bau Caves. I think he didn't realize that it was near to Thaipusam which means the road will jammed. Yes! it was damned jammed all the way from Kepong to Batu Caves, all Hindus were already started the gathering. Fuh!... luckily we managed there by 11.30 a.m.

While waiting my car on servicing, my husband called his friend Wan Salim and Yus. They then picked us up for drinks at Aladdin. I had laksa while my husband and Wan Salim had mee rebus Johor. The laksa tasted okay but the mee rebus was very yummy , rich with meat broth, and very tasty. I like it. I also had drink called "air bandung muar", Ehmm... heavan.... I think it was a mix of rose syrup with ice cream soda and milk... it soooo refreshing.

After finished serviced our car we went back to pick up Shakira. Arrived Banting was a dinner time for my family. My husband prefer to get his sleep rather than adding more cabohydrate to his body but for me my mom's cook is my number 1 and will never missed it even it was only rice with some simple dish. At that time I actually tried not take any dinner but as I said I will never missed my mom's cook so i later joined my father had dinner at the kitchen. Yess! my favorite dish, "masak tumis tauchu", "sambal tumis" and "Pak choi masak bening"( you what masak bening is? it's a clear sup with vegetables inside in. In java languange bening means clear. So masak bening means clear soup)... another tempting, melting and druelling for me.

Oh.. that afternoon I actually received a sms from my mother in-law informing me that they had met an accident at Bukit Jambul. But they were okay. alhamdulillah, but I really hope they will reduce driving long distance due to their age which reached veteren's group age.

Punyalah penat my husband, we ended up sleeping in Banting until morning. We had to rush back as my husband has promised his friends to see him at our aprt. in the afternoon and in the evening we had an invitation for a birthday party of Shakira's second cousin, Aleeya at Bukit Jelutong. We droped by at SACC before to my husband's cousin's house (Aleeya's house) to buy birthday present for Aleeya. On the way down to the car, I saw the Qamilla owner waving at me... erm... he still remember me... he is the owner of Qamilla, the boutique in Anggerik mall. Arrived there at Aleya's house we were served with nasi lemak , mee hoon, roti jala and pai tee.. my husband has no choice but to take whatever served as he didn't had anything for lunch except for breakfast he had some scramble egg and two toasts.

Today another day we spent with Shakira, and we planned to bring her to Ikano as she requested and to buy her alphabet cards. Here we go ... IKANO...(macam tak biasa lah padahal seminggu 2, 3 kali pegi) the special is because Shakira is coming along.... Yahiii...
